Latest Updates from Our Project:

Miniatures will be cast next week
about 3 years ago – Thu, Apr 01, 2021 at 11:55:18 PM

It's been a while since we last updated you on our little project. At this moment we have everything we need to start fulfilling your pledges... except for the miniatures. But the good news is that they will be cast next week. This week the ultra high definition 3D print of the new miniature arrived and the metal caster started preparations for production.

The UHD 3D-print of the miniature is being prepared to create the master mould.

After the master mould maker finishes making the mould for the masters and the masters have been cast, the production moulds can be made and production may begin. The trains are expected to be ready by the end of next week and we will start shipping soon after!

Pledge Manager closes soon + Please vote!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 26, 2021 at 12:24:32 AM

Good morning. This is a quick email to remind you that the Pledge Manager will close very soon. Most backers have by now finished the survey and we are only a few more forms. Thanks to everybody for responding so quickly!

On a related note (and also involving quick action): Rollecate has been nominated for the 2021 Geek Madness Tournament. This is a prestigious tournament held every year by Board Game Geek. Even though it will of course be tough to beat big titles like Gloomhaven, it would be very cool for the game to actually be included in the long list. But for that, we need your help.

So, if you have 2 spare minutes today, please go to Board Game Geek and click the green thumb icon next to the Rollecate entry. As little as 40 thumbs would be enough for Rollecate to get included!

Click the green icon to support the nomination of Rollecate. We need only 40 thumbs!

And last but not least, we received some initial sketches of the new card designs for Rollecate: Stations. Most of the new cards in Rollecate will have a New Mexico desert style, with all sorts of new little stories going on on every card. And there will be various kinds of new railroad elements in there, like switches, signals and buffer stops, for instance! To be continued!

Well, that was absolutely incredible!

Good morning! Our campaign has just ended. And what a campaign it has been! We are so happy to see that so many of you have found this campaign. We would have been very happy to be able to make 100 miniatures. But now, at the end of this campaign with over 400% funding, we will make 163 miniatures! And possibly even some more, as backers have indicated they would like to obtain an extra copy. So, thank you all very much for your support!

Pledge manager (BackerKit) opens soon

The next step in the process will be for us to get the pledge manager ready. We will be using BackerKit to collect all information we need to start shipping out your rewards. You will receive an invitation from BackerKit later on. We will send you a personal message as well, to make sure you are prepared. To be able to fulfill the pledges asap, we will not keep the Pledge Manager open for very long.

Shipping charged through BackerKit

As you know, we will be collecting shipping costs in the Pledge Manager. That's something we really want to repeat, as we would not want you to feel surprised in any negative way. We are currently working with a number of partners to make sure shipping will be as smooth as possible. As there are a considerable number of backers from the US and the UK, we will arrange local fulfillment through Game Envy (US) and Zatu Games (UK).That should avoid most of the tax hassle and lower the shipping rates somewhat. The rewards will be shipped from the EU, so all shipments will be EU-friendly by default.

Adding extra copies and other add-ons

Some backers have asked us about the possibility to add more items, for instance extra miniatures to their pledge. And of course, that will be possible as well. In the Pledge Manager you will be able to add extra copies of the miniature and the game. And for those interested a Print & Play copy of the game will be available as well. In addition to that, we will offer a number of other add-ons, including stickers, our games and other games we strongly believe in. The available titles may vary with the country you're from.

New expansion "Rollecate: Stations"

Later this year, we will launch a Kickstarter campaign for the first 'real' expansion to Rollecate, called Rollecate: Stations. We say 'real', because there was of course the 'Rollecate: Broken Rails' mini-expansion, that is now part of the second edition of the game. Rollecate: Stations will contain 8 new modules that you can add to the game, adding all sorts of new little strategies and challenges to the game, without really changing the core of the game. The expansion will feature 55 brand new cards, each with stunning artwork from Miša Jovanović, and 4 extra dice for those who really like to take some risks. We'll keep you updated!

300% funded; last campaign weekend
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 05, 2021 at 10:10:27 PM

Wow! Today our campaign crossed the 300% funding threshold. That is quite something! So thanks are definitely in place. You are awesome!

If we may, we would like to point you to that other Dutch train-campaign that is currently running: Carnegie Deluxe Edition. They are currently in the last 48 hours and are very close to their last stretch goal of $430.000. And if they reach that SG... They will include a metal copy of our Rollecate miniature to all pledges! It will be a simpler metal version, not pewter, and without the lush antique look. But still, so cool! So, go take a look at their campaign and please support them!

The Rollecate miniature has actually become one of the Stretch Goals for Carnegie!

The past few days we started work on the artwork for the Rollecate: Stations expansion. And we are really excited about how things are shaping up. The illustrator, Miša Jovanovic, came up with a lot of really cool ideas that will make the new modular Rollecation expansion absolutely gorgeous.

Rollecate: Stations will feature passengers and crew members...

And one more thing: later this year we plan to do a special Kickstarter campaign involving 4 games with white metal miniatures. Because we like unusual words, we call this our Games with Miniatures Quadriptych. 3 of the miniatures have been designed already. What do you think?
